So you had a nutjob blow away 7 people in Illinois. Despite a history of disturbing behavior, at 22 he was legally allowed to purchase several weapons that included the high powered rifle (with scope and mount).
The GOP gun lobby recipients try to blame legalized marijuana (Biden's and the Dems fault)....but to date NONE of the convicted mass shooters were done so due to marijuana use or abuse. In fact, one or more were on prescriptions that they self discontinued. And it's hard to blame a substance that is legal in other industrialized countries around the world who DO NOT have the mass shooting problem America has.
But remember the GOP gun lobby and media/civilian sycophants were diametrically opposed to national mandatory background checks for any gun purchases that include any medical records.
Then the GOP gun lobby and media/civilian sycophants say it's a mental health issue that is the problem.

When all else fail, the aforementioned gun rights folk try to deflect with "you have all these black gangs shooting up neighborhoods in blue states on a daily basis, but you ignore that and go crazy of a comparatively few mass shootings". But they wail like stuck pigs against ANY effort to plug up the "iron pipe line" that feeds those criminal gangs
And ask, "why not just bring back the 1994 AWB list? Won't solve the problems but could lessen it!", and the banshee wail goes insane. " It's un-Constitutional! My freedom and personal sense of safety would be in danger."
I always wonder precisely what can these people do with that gun on their hip or in their home that they couldn't do when they didn't have it. Where couldn't they go? What couldn't they buy? Where couldn't they live?
So, as the mass shooting number's keep climbing, the gang shootings increase in frequency .... and the weapons of choice comes from the sunset 1994 AWB list, our GOP gun lobby and media/civilian sycophants give their condolences, say their prayers, mouth their platitudes, and have those who can keep raking in the money.
