One of the favorite refuges of the left on JPP when cornered about the Mueller witch hunt against Donald Trump is "He is a republican"
Now set aside for a second that the only evidence that we have that Robert Mueller is a Republican is a 2001 Washington Post article claiming he was a registered Republican. Let's for a second assume that it is true, what does that mean? What does the left hope to gain from that accusation? What is supposed to prove?
Does it automatically confer credibility?
Does it immunize him from criticism from anyone on the right?
Does it mean he isn't a member of the Deep State?
Does it mean he doesn't have conflicts of interest?
Does it prove there isn't witch hunt?
Or is it merely a red herring thrown out by desperate partisans meant to distract from the real issues at hand?
