This case has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH DAMAGES. ZERO. NIL. NADA. It is a case that was filed seeking EQUITABLE RELIEF. This is important for a couple of reasons. Number one, when a plaintiff is seeking equitable relief rather than monetary damages, THERE IS NO RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL. PERIOD. It does not matter if Trump had requested it, the judge would have denied the request. The lawsuit was not seeking damages. It was seeking a remedy that would PREVENT FUTURE FRAUD BY THE TRUMP ORGANIZATION. You cannot sue for damages and have non-monetary penalties as part of the judgement. That's the reason that The Bobsie Twins are not allowed to do business in New York for three years. That's the reason Trump is banned for five years.
Someone called this a tort case. They did so because they are stupid. It is not a tort case. Others have claimed there is no victim. Even if we assume that isn't true, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. NONE.
If you had taken the time to read the ruling and do a couple of simple google searches, this would have been apparent to you, but you are so busy yelling and screaming about how horrible this action was that you didn't even bother to find out what exactly it was you were complaining about.
