The Oldest Man in America Is a Texan, Who Loves His Cigars. Think of what has transpired in his lifetime. In 1906, Theodore Roosevelt was president. The first forward pass was introduced to the game of football and Ford was still two years away from producing the first "Model T." Times have certainly changed since the early 1900s and there's only one man in America who can say he's witnessed it all.

I read that nicotine controls insulin. Together with that contol and the neurologic effect of smoking, that's why many people stay slim while they're smoking. Could the body weight maintenance cause this longevity? I know scientists are exploring ways to use the same component in nicotine that suppresses hunger to potentially design drugs for obese people.
