The pearls or Diamonds real stroy

thats problem with her.. its very foreshadowing of presidency she will lead. i hope your party does not pick her. Obama is a far better choice.

Actually if you read the whole post, you find that she had one other question, related to Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site. They had already spent 10 minutes or so discussing that. They used her only other question to 'close' on a light note.

It's called television production. It had nothing to do with Hillary, which I don't like her a bit, wasn't her call.

That's a wrap.

I still feel bad for the girl. It would have been better if she didn't ask any question at all. At best it was an akward moment, at worst it was quite embarrassing.

Yeah, but asking the first serious female presidential nominee about her taste in jewelry is dubious at best.

This was CNN not Hil

What CRAP.....Desh, are you dumb enough to think that these folks running for the most powerful position in the world are told by CNN what can and can't be asked in the Presidential debate....are you really, really that freekin' gullible...???

Yes she is..........

she lives and plays in sin city...Nevadas smoking zone for 'Kalifornias' transplants!

The Clintons are a joke, in part becuase of situations like these. They have managed to take the position of most powerful leader in the world and change it into something casual--- exactly why emotion and feelings should not enter into politics. It is nice to be casual with someone, yes, but such an important position should not be approached in such a light manner.

Hmm, maybe it wasn't just CNN? You all know the party and Hillary better than I do. Links at site:

...LaShannon Spencer, who was identified as a member of the First African Methodist Church, asked the question near the top of the 10 pm Eastern hour. She highlighted how health care and the Iraq war had, in her view, dominated the questions during past debates.

Would that be the same LaShannon Spencer who is, or at least was the political director of the Democrat Party of Arkansas? She certainly didn't sound too undecided back in 2003 - though I suppose she could be an undecided voter as billed by CNN.

Lashannon Spencer, political director for the Arkansas Democratic Party, commented on her favorite part of Clinton's book.

"How she describes actually meeting Bill ... I enjoyed how they were both willing to put their lives on hold so each one of them fulfilled their dreams," Spencer said.

...This isn’t the only questioner whose background CNN chose to omit, either. I can give them a pass on another one Dan dug up just because you can’t expect them to know everything about a questioner’s history. But how about a questioner who’s appeared on their own network previously in his official role as leader of an interest group? Think that might be worth a mention? Eric Scheie is all over it. If Fox News tried passing off a local community leader who’d been on the network before in a quasi-expert capacity as some “random” Joe Citizen pitching special-interest softballs at a Republican debate, the nutroots supernova would be visible from the Andromeda galaxy. As it is, they’ll very feebly feign ignorance as to why we should care.

Here’s the video of Khalid Khan — and yes, it’s the same guy. According to the woman who got stuck with the dopey “diamonds or pearls” question, the question about Yucca Mountain that she wanted to ask “was APPROVED by CNN days in advance.” If CNN knew “days in advance” what the questions would be — and more importantly, who the questioners were — why didn’t they do a cursory background check to see whether, oh, let’s say, any of them had worked for the Democratic Party before or had appeared on their own network as a spokesman for an interest group?...

...I went back to the beginning of the debate to see how Blitzer introduced the format. Did he offer any details on who’d be doing the questioning? Why, yes. After mentioning that the debate was sponsored by the national party — something likely understood by most viewers as a mere formality — he described them as “ordinary people, undecided voters.” Note: not even “undecided Democrats.” Just undecided...

Are you silly enough to think answering that hurt him?

LOL
I don't think that was the point, Desh. I think he meant it cheapened the position by trivializing the importance of the short time we have to explore who the candidate is. Asking about the type of underwear a person wears is about as unimportant as a question can get. Next comes questions about jewelry preferences.

The candidate I would vote for would have asked for a meaningful question.

Runyon - Even assuming those freaks you like to are correct, what's your point? That a registered Democrat with ties to elected Democrats asked a question at a Democratic primary debate sponsored by the Nevada Democratic Party? Quite a scoop there.

In other news, dog bites man.
