The Promise of America

I couldn't agree more. Right now Obama is symbol who's importance to many cannot be understated but the problems of race in America won't vanish just because Obama was elected. It's a long road that needs to be walked.......but this is certainly one big step in the right direction and it doesn't change the fact that Tuesday will be a great day to be an American.

Not to be argumentative my brother .. and I certainly appreciate your thoughts .. but Tuesday will be just another day for me. I plan to spend the day off in the woods with my dog and remove myself from the pomp and circumstance of crowning Baracak Obama, whom I believe will be a collossal failure.

I agree. It's a historical moment. The first black American president, who'd have thought? At the same time he stands to enter office with more on his plate than any president back to Lincoln. Granted that FDR took office in troubling times, but at the time no one really thought war was on the horizon.

No, we and he are faced with a very untested President, with two wars and a quickly sinking economy. He's not qualified, but may surprise all of us. I hope so.

War is pretty much no more on the horizon that it was during FDR's day. Are you talking about SMY's one man revolution?

Democrats need to man up. Obama prob wants to do what BAC states above. But when scared of his own Shadow Harry Potter Reid is one of your leaders it's going to move slower than Ohio States Defense.

As long as BHO does not lie to the public when he takes that oath to 'support and defend the constitution of the United States, and actually does that, then I will support him. If he lies and tries to undermine it, then I will oppose him. Lets see him keep THAT promise.

Yep, let's see how long anyone sticks with your ridiculous interpretation of the constitution.

What would you know, your a punk. If my generations sucks, how comes we just elected a man the same age as me?

If you are Obama's age, then I guess you are not a Boomer (Gen X, born after 1960 would be the term). Anyway, we Millenials voted for Obama in the highest percentages. Its not as big a deal for us, because we were kids in the 90's, which actually rocked!

You should get your facts straight. The US Census defines the baby boom as the period between 1946 and 1964. Obama and I were both born in 61 so that makes us both Boomers.

The only question is how high in the top 20% of Presidents Obama winds up.
Bush has lowered the bar so low one of the snail's playing cornerback for Ohio State could skip over it.
