I'm surprised that there isn't a thread on this (or maybe I just missed it).

It is really surreal stuff; I can't recall a Presidency where there was anything like it. "Exquisite Presidential leadership?"

Bill Kristol just said it reminded him of a banana republic. We're in a whole new era of ego right now.

Well, maybe if you had the guts, or the brains to post actual sources to what the hell you're talking about. Not to mention being too big of a gutless wonder to even quote me, so I get notified. Do you think those kids just spontaneously broke out in praise for Obama, or were they guided by authority figures? That's far more creepy than any perceived nonsense you are regurgitating right now. Do you think there aren't myriad videos of Democrat Party leadership heaping praise onto your lord and savior? As I said, you must be very young.

Apologies; some things are so ubiquitous I don't think I have to post the actual videos or links. I've seen that tax announcement ceremony on TV no fewer than a dozen times at this point - actually, many more than that. It was an absurd display from people who are supposed to be confident leaders of the greatest nation on earth. It was just weird.

And I sometimes do just respond in a thread without using the "quote" thing - I never really considered it gutless, just lazy. I will not commit this egregious offense again.

You have to remember, there is a former poster named Dixxie, who penned a love letter entitled "I Love Bush!" that literally was borderline homo-erotic.....It was only years later, after the multiple failures of George Dumbya, that Dixxie basically belatedly began insinuating that he was supposedly never a supporter of Bush. That he could barely stand the guy!

Why bring up Dixxie? Because he is a metaphor for how the Trump presidency will unfold. Right now, his message board supporters are basically writing about Trump almost in a gay-curious, homo-erotic, worshipful kind of way....but sometime in the not to distant future we will see these same Trump-ettes proclaiming: "Trump??" I never supported the guy! And isn't he a life-long Democrat anyway??'

He always has problems with people making statements on current events without a source. I guess he is too busy with all his original thoughts to keep up with the news.

I think I am going to send Mike Pence knee pads for Christmas.

You’re missing a yuge development.

Basically, that Trump is in the process of reforming the GOP. Former Never Trumpers [some of them at least] are boarding the Trump Train. That was unthinkable a year ago. It’s no longer about the Bush’s, the Romney’s or neocons like Bill Krystal.

My vote for Trump was a gamble that he would succeed in doing exactly that. As of now, the gamble seems to be paying off.

And your OP point can be applied to any ‘winning’ President.

No I find congressmen and women some of whom have publicly previously called Trump crazy and the like who now (even for a day) act like they are generals in Kim Jog Un's army far more creepy than children of color singing about a great black President who had no scandals and was a courteous and accomplished
stateman, intellect and two term president.

to be fair, there was no reason to assume the OP was restricted to politicians.....personally I don't know why you folks are making such a big deal about it.......we won, why shouldn't we celebrate?.....
