Trump does not want to be an AMERICAN PRESIDENT. He simply wants to be an AUTOCRATIC and SUPREME RULER of his adoring and shrinking base.

If you do not worship Trump and praise his every move, you are NOT a fellow American with a differing opinion, you are simply the ENEMY.

The simple truth is that Trump feeds of the ignorance of his followers and even comments on how gullible he thinks his base is.

When will his followers grow tired of being made fools of?
 
He did not want to win but saw running as a huge boost for his product, the Trump name. He did not say those things about Mccain and the others to win, but to lose. He was as crude and rude as imaginable. But when he did not drive out his followers, he stated in shock " I could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose any voters". He was stunned to see how well his con man sthick worked on a national scale. That was when he found out, that in spite of his sabotaging over and over, he could still win. Now he is screwed. He has been a crook his whole life and now realizes that it will come out. He is blowing up the judicial, like the FBI and shutting down the government to try and ride it out. I don't think he will make it.
 
It's obvious that Trump is almost totally uninformed about politics, current events, history, you name it. Not only that, he has no interest in learning. His only known use for his fellow citizens has been to con, bilk or screw them. Yet for most of a decade he saw himself as a likely contender for President of the United States.

Why?

In fact, talk of Trump running for POTUS goes back for 20 or 30 years. Hillary lost an election which was rigged in her favor. Democrats have no one to blame but themselves.

No it was not rigged in her favor. Trump got billions of free press and TV time from all the networks. His rallies were covered beginning to end by all cable networks. CNN, MSNBC and other networks made him president.

I disagree with the first part. I agree with the second part. But that would imply that all of that press coverage was favorable toward Trump. It was not.

Did not matter. He got way outsized coverage. His rallies were covered from front to back. What is that worth in campaign cash? Most reporters covered him like a diversion.

My question remains, C.O.: why did Trump think he was a suitable candidate for POTUS?

Was the campaign a kind of ego trip, and he didn't believe, right up to the last minute, that he would win and have to do the job? Does America have an "accidental president"?

I'm not a fan of Hillary .. I have no idea what she thought. I think she wouldn't have been a disaster like Trump.

I'm not unhappy.. I just think Trump is a dumb criminal. Hillary is too old and has too much baggage, but Trump is a vindictive liar and a cheat.

They are ignorant fools who are willingly complicit in what this disgusting person is doing to them.

In some ways they remind me of the Confederate grunts during the Civil War...who fought, suffered,and died in order to protect a system that was causing them to live in abject poverty.

Anyway...Trump supporters are WILLING suckers...walking to their slaughter with smiles on their faces.

But those of us who oppose them have to see the reality:

THEY WILL NEVER GROW TIRED OF BEING SUCKERED...OR OF BEING MADE FOOLS OF.

Donald Trump's base is rock solid. Opposition to them can never let up or they will destroy our country and its institutions rather than acknowledge the existential danger the abomination presents for the Republic and humanity in general.

I think he's doing a lot of damage to the US... and really should be in prison.

President Reagan cited the need for an "informed patriotism." During a radio address on education, he said, "Since the founding of this Nation, education and democracy have gone hand in hand."
 
Trump does NOT want to be the President of America.

What an absurd situation - he doesn't want to be President, and the majority didn't want him to be President. Get rid of that weird 'College' (is it?) that negates the People's will!
