Social-justice organization Black Lives Matter is still standing with Jussie Smollett after the actor was convicted Thursday of staging a racist, homophobic attack and lying to police about it.

But his old friend Don Lemon, the CNN anchor who once defended him amid allegations of a hoax, is not supporting him.

Smollett, best known for his role on the TV series "Empire," was found guilty Thursday on five of six counts of disorderly conduct. His attorneys say they plan to appeal the decision, which legal experts have said bears a light penalty for the actor that would likely include probation and community service.

I don't care who you are... woman, man, straight, gay, white, black, rich, poor, famous, nobody. If you pretend you're the victim of a hate or gender or violent crime, and you're convicted of lying about it, you deserve what you get.

That being said, for every Jussie, there are a thousand victims of actual real crimes who never reported it because they wouldn't be believed. And that's why this asshole needs to go to prison.

Why do people jump into incidents so quickly? It Is is like rightys on the hate Baldwin bandwagon. The truth has not come out.
Same for Smollet. He was defended way too quickly. People just knew what happened. In the end, he was responsible for it.
You could have saved comments until the facts became known.
