Lost in the news that 400 Iraqi were vaporized and blown to bits, in the lastest bombing in George Bush's war, is this distressing tidbit:

The political reconciliation the "Splurge" was supposed to achieve, has pretty much failed.

The Maliki government is falling apart, the Sunnis have pulled out, and even an "emergency" summit to pull the parties back together failed. The sunnis are sitting out.

Iraq's political leaders emerged Thursday from three days of crisis talks with a new alliance that seeks to save the current government. But the reshaped power bloc included no Sunnis and immediately raised questions about its legitimacy as a unifying force.
