It is easy for a thief to see his latest haul as winning, but thieves will never be seen as winners. Sure the thief feels pretty good when he looks over an expensive car stereo or his bag of gems after a night of stealing in the dark, but there is no way that he will EVER be seen as a winner. He can even beat the crap out of anybody who denies him the title of "winner", but he will never actually be a winner. He could even have an entire gang of fellow thieves band together to force somebody to declare a thief as a winner, but there is no way a thief will ever actually be a winner.
Winning is a great feeling, but many people will go a lifetime without ever experiencing real winning. Many people will get the sweet taste of victory via high school or college sports where hard work and perseverance lead to this special phenomenon, and some experience winning on a regular basis. Unfortunately for so many, they will never actually know the difference between stealing and winning. Thieves will be condemned to having to argue or insist that they are winners, and their case will only be supported by fellow thieves.
