The Town Hall Mob

I don't know... Those sandals. HOoooooo! MAN! It's just inhumane!

I'm telling ya, the dude with the flag shirt has to be a plant...patriotic types are always worth suspecting. And I have it on good authority that the baby is a junior member of the Minute Men.

I agree with Krauthammer for the most part (wow, will wonders never cease.) I have some problems with completely eliminating the malpractice system for the most egregious cases. There was a guy in Texas in his early 30's who had his testicles and penis removed and when the necropsy was done there was not a single cancer cell. Some one screwed up big. What is that worth, how do you put a value on that? I think only a juror can. But for the most part I agree. accidents happen, you should be compensated for actual damages and honest mistakes should not become a lottery for you or your money grubbing med mal attorney.

The problem with the above is determining WHICH would be the most egregious. I think that is the slippery slope we went down already. But I understand your point as well. Some are blatant and the loss of the DR's license is not enough. Though I think his idea is a good starting point at least.

No it kills a human life, but not a BABY. Most abortions do not take place when the fetus is at baby stage, so NO it does not kill a baby only genetic human life.

ba·by (bb)
n. pl. ba·bies
1.
a. A very young child; an infant.
b. An unborn child; a fetus.
c. The youngest member of a family or group.
d. A very young animal.

A 'fetus' is simply defining a baby/child by a stage of its development.

a fetus in the first trimester is not according to hoyle a baby. I have two children, I know what a baby is, our first ultra sounds were not of babies but of fetuses. Somewhere along the line they become babies before they are born, but most abortions do not occur at that point.

You mean when the magic baby fairy comes and turns the 'fetus' into a baby? Is that the time you are referring to? :)

a fetus is a STAGE of human development.

With his rationale killing a woman, man, child, baby is a human life worth granting rights of protection to, but granting rights of protection does not apply to human life inside the womb.

Man when realestate agents talk about location, location, location, they have NO idea!

1) People are not protesting the desire to provide insurance to those that do not have it. They are protesting the method and the lack of our ability to pay for the method being presented.

We absolutely have the ability to pay for it. The right was proposing possible deficits from the plan of 200 billion... that is like, what, 0.5% of our total GDP? It's a pretty big bite, but the uninsured have to have healthcare, and we are absolutely able to pay for it.

4) I want healthcare reform. But I want it in the manner that will take a hard look at why costs have risen so much relative to inflation. Break that down. Find the problems and fix them. Simply switching HOW we pay for healthcare does not address the cost factor and thus will have minimal effect. Even the idiots at the CBO undertstand this.

And that's what this plan does, retard.

Health reform made simple

Kudos to the Times for a story that, for once, emphasizes the remarkable unity of vision health reformers are showing, rather than the squabbles that are an inevitable part of passing major legislation.

The essence is really quite simple: regulation of insurers, so that they can’t cherry-pick only the healthy, and subsidies, so that all Americans can afford insurance.

Everything else is about making that core work. Individual mandates are a way to prevent gaming of the system by people who don’t sign up until they’re sick; employer mandates a way to hold down the on-budget costs by preventing a rush by employers to drop insurance; the public option a way to create effective competition and hold costs down further.

But what it means for the individual will be that insurers can’t reject you, and if your income is relatively low, the government will help pay your premiums.

That’s it. Any commentator who whines that he just doesn’t understand it is basically saying that he doesn’t want to understand it.

The dictionary takes every widely held usage of the term. Although I object to the use of the term "baby" to talk about fetuses, it is used amongst the American public, so it has to be included in the definition.

It annoys me to no end when people pull out the dictionary to prove a philosophical point, completely oblivious to the fact that that's not the purpose of the dictionary.

They, the older protesters, now understand that Medicare is under siege with another 35 billion being cut. That they will be counseled for options such as euthanasia etc. I mean hell stupid old geezers need to just shut up...right?

No, every five years the elderly have the ability to be counseled about end of life options. Euthanasia is only even an option in Oregon; and only for people who are terminally ill (whether or not they're elderly).

You say Obama's plan is addressing healthcare costs? Even when the idiots at the CBO are capable of understanding his plan does NOT reduce costs? Yet he continues to push forth this plan?

Could you provide your source for the CBO estimates so that I can tell how you're misinterpreting them?
