In yet another instance of science belatedly confirming what common sense has already told us, a new paper from researchers at three Canadian universities concludes that Internet trolls aren’t just mean — they’re sadists and psychopaths.

The paper, published last week in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, surveyed a group of several hundred on their Internet behaviors and personal traits. It found that trolling correlated with higher rates of sadism, psychopathy and Machiavellianism, a certain lack of scruples when it comes to deceiving or manipulating other people.

There's a guy on there who says that some internet trolls tracked him and called his work place trying to get him fired for some thing he said about Palin, and the only reason he wasn't is because he owns the company. This exact same thing happened to me. I bet it happens to a lot of people.

This exact same thing happened to me. I bet it happens to a lot of people.

There were two whores, whose names shall remain unspoken, who did the same damn thing to me. So now we have confirmation that these two were psychopaths, not that we needed it, but still it's always good to have conformation from scientists and researchers and shit!

Don't too self-righteous there Willie. Once one of "your guys" tracked me down for fairly innocuous comments that for unknown reasons stuck in his craw.

He went so far as to track me down at work and libel me there, demanding I be terminated etc.

The only reason I escaped the hangman's noose was ... I was the boss. Of a company I owned.

So don't go blaming this on your favorite betes noir.

The political climate the signals the legitimacy of this tactic comes straight from the streets of Washington, D.C. by way of the Mob.

I see nothing about Palin in the comment....where did you get that from ? As a matter of fact, that poster goes on to say in another post,

"OTOH, quite a few of these trolls seem to be part of an organized effort, the mysterious and shadowy "O-Bots" for example, who are paid to disrupt comment sections and silence discussion."

O-bots ?....sounds like he is talking about trolling lefties...are you trying to say the trolls were after him for saying
nice things about Palin.....or are you just full of shit from the get go ?
