They aren't really trying to impeach Trump. They know they can't. They know they don't have the evidence. What they are doing is taking advantage of his instincts to fight.
The Deep State and the left have two goals
1) Cripple his agenda because they can't let him be successful lest the American people realize that non career politicians can get things done
2) Try to catch him or someone in his administration in a process crime i.e., take some misstatement and scream "PERJURY" and "REMEMBER BILL CLINTON"
Mark my words, that is what this all about. In that order
