I knew when Obama was elected, it would just be a matter of time before the left began chortling cries of racism, and deflecting criticism by trying to characterize the opposition as extremists like Timothy McVeigh. I had no idea it would actually be articulated by Senators and Administration lackeys, but that is precisely where it has gone.
Over the last few months, I have heard several prominent Democrats articulating this "fear" that someone (from the angry right) might try to do harm to the president. If I heard it once, I could pass it off as a fluke, just some nut democrat trying to get attention, but I've heard this repeatedly, over and over again. It's almost as if they are wishfully thinking, a radical rightie might try to off the prez, and they can say they told us so! What else would be the purpose of this baseless paranoia?
Let's TRY and be objective here. Anyone who considers themselves a part of the right, and has all of their faculties, must also realize that Obama's demise would canonize Obama's policies and initiatives for generations to come. There would effectively be no more debate on any Obama dream, because we would HAVE to make them all reality! Just like we did with JFK, Lincoln, FDR, and any other president who died in office. The left has already tried to tie Nationalized Health Care to the corpse of Teddy Kennedy, you know they would use Obama's death to force their liberal agenda down our throat.
Nope, I say, if anyone offs the prez, it will be a loony tune liberal, who sees this as an opportunity to turn Obama into a martyr for 'the cause' and solidify all these bird-brained liberal policies on the table. As re-election time nears, and his poll numbers drop, some wacko liberal might start thinking it's desperation time, and something has to be done to save the movement! Now that, I can see happening! But a rightie offing the prez... not a chance!
It would have to be a really insane rightie, who didn't mind a President Biden, or the thought of Nancy Pelosi being a chicken bone away from the Oval Office. I don't think we have any righties that crazy... maybe in Montana?
