The USMCA will be replaced with two separate bilateral trade agreements

China (BYD) is already building an EV factory in Mexico knowing their autos will eventually make it to the US market. Ford CEO Jim Farley has been lobbying for Chinese EVs for years. The world is moving forward while the US remains in the 20th century.

lol the Red Chinese steal tech, they rarely invent it. Slave labor makes nearly anything 'cost effective', which is why those big multinationals love your Red Chinese heroes.

I am saying that two bilateral treaties means we lose control over who Mexico and Canada trades with other than us.

Yes, cuz that vast Sudanese market will take all our trade away. lol you people really can't do math at all, can you?

I don't care who else they trade with. They can still trade with us on a bilateral basis. OUR market is the market in demand. They will bend over backwards to retain access to our market (or suffer the consequences).

The govt. of Mexico has already lost control of over a third of their own country. Soon there won't be any 'Mexico', just another criminally run shithole. That's why they won't be building their EV factory there, and why Taiwan and others are building factories here and not there.

China is an expert at business so no one will question their decision.
China has decided that they want to have as little to do with America as possible because we are a lost cause.....they dont want to sell stuff to us.....something Trump and most Americans know nothing about.

Funny thing is China was worried about the US stealing BYD technology but I didn't know they put the factory on hold.

That is not why they halted but yes one of the consequences of America getting rid of manufacturing is that we will no longer innovate at manufacturing. Also one of the consequences of Chinese doing so much building over recent decades is that they have gotten much better than us at it.

More stuff the mostly ignorant Americans know nothing about.

After the ICE raid on Hyundai, it's clear BYD made the right decision to put the Mexico factory on hold.

I think instead of your "recovering over optimist" signature you should say "suffering over pessimist" instead.

America has failed him. It hasn't ever given him a Big Important Government Job N Stuff, and he's been mad ever since.

Why would i be aware when that is WRONG.

It was Trump who capitulated to Canada and then Canada reciprocated as a display of good will.

Trump is and always will be TACO Trump and now everyone knows it they call his bluff, hold out and then KNOW that Trump will come back and offer a better deal often then the one that was in place prior to simply allow him to announce A DEAL and pretend it was a great one.

Recent history shows us these countries end up better and the US worse despite what Trump lies and proclaims.
I'm making this into an official prediction thread and then we'll see who is right and who is wrong.

The USMCA trade agreement is soon up for "renegotiation". I predict that it will NOT be renegotiated and that it will instead be replaced by two separate bilateral trade agreements. One between the USA and Canada and another between the USA and Mexico.
ALERT ALERT!! It turns out that I was correct and QP! was WRONG. Who would've thunk it! ;) Anyway, here it is, in all it's glory. Thanks to Kevin Hassett for LETTING IT SLIP (watch the video here).

If one doesn't wish to watch the video, the pertinent quote from Hassett is this: "the fact that we are now negotiating with Mexico, separately, reveals that it’s not just one add, there’s frustration that has built up."

IOW, Hassett has now openly admitted that the USA is already proactively negotiating a bilateral trade agreement with Mexico, which means that the USMCA is (un)officially dead, just as I predicted that it would be.

Poor QP! ........

oh boy oh boy, is this how Trump and Co have been 'negotiating' with Russia on the peace deal Trump will have done on "Day 1"?

Wow. Thanks for getting me a quote saying they are 'negotiating' and then pretending that is a done deal.

Next you are going to tell me that since Trump said he has a "concept of a plan" for a healthcare deal to replace ObamaCare back in 2016, that then means it is done.

Genius.

Or... OR... just more magat stupidity.

Fine. Keep denying the truth until the eventual official announcement that the USMCA is no more. I'm sure you'll deny that too, though...

I am not denying it. I actually believe it will follow Trump's "concept of a plan" as i am sure you do too, right?

Tell me you are not "denying that truth" and that the "official announcement that ObamaCare is no more"? You are a believer right and would not call Trump a bullshit artist, right?
