The War on Drugs is a Failure

So is the War on Poverty. Let's end that first. Get the gobblement out of other aspects of our lives then we can talk about legalizing drugs. I seem to remember reading that the Boston terrorists were potheads. Just saying

I agree that the war on poverty will never be over unless we change the economic system to a more fair system. Socialism.

Wandering bear is too much the simpleton to understand your two class society complaint. He's a blind faith kinda guy. He trusts his leaders.

Yeah, but we should legalize discrimination while your redneck friends leach off the government for numerous services?

The drug war only increases the likelihood of poverty as a drug charge is destructive to a persons earning potential. Racist like you actually want that so that there will be some that remain impoverished, increasing the demand for welfare.

The united states has 3 classes the poor, the middle class, and the wealthy. And you cant have fairness in a society that imposes a class system of any kind.
but that is exactly what socialism will bring. all you will do is remove the middle class, leaving the wealthy and the poor. how is that fair?

Who told you that? Now....I'm not advocating Socialism here...but if you look at Germany, they are doing fine. But then, they aren't exactly socialist. They are more of a hybrid of Socialism and Capitalism. It's simplistic to look at countries like Greece who really, other than tourism, have little going for it.

You know what the real problem over in Europe is? Countries. When they went to the Euro, they should have turned into the United States of Europe. That way they'd have a centralized government like we do, centralized planning to help weaker "states" get on their feet and compete, and centralized taxation to facilitate that.

In other words, they should have copied us.
