Other than the hard-core liberals who hate conservatism regardless of current events, the reaction of most will depend on how things pan out. If Perry pulls off a win in the economy as he seems to be doing in Texas, people are going to like him. If he does not preside over an economic turn around, they will vote him out after a single term, just as it is appearing for Obama. And that pretty much goes for any republican, assuming (likely at this juncture) they win against Obama.

14 years of stagnant economy is too much. If something does not happen soon, we will be trading parties as often as actors change costumes in a major play.
