Here are the rules of this thread; the requirements in order to change my mind:

[1] You MUST clearly and unambiguously define the term "gender non-binary person" (or "genderqueer person") in a manner that doesn't violate logic and/or science. --- Any and all appeals to HOLY LINKS (e.g, to Wikipedia or to a random dictionary definition) are NOT ALLOWED and will be summarily dismissed on sight.

[2] You MUST clearly and unambiguously describe a "third option" of some sort. Meaning, you must identify and describe:

[2a] A sex other than male or female.
[2b] A sex chromosome other than X or Y.

In about 1% of all births, babies have some form of ambiguous genitalia, such as a very large clitoris or very small penis. In more rare cases—between 0.1% and 0.2% of live births—genitalia is so ambiguous that medical specialists are brought in for a consultation.

Yes, it's rare- BUT IT EXISTS!

The problem children have is when they realize they are not normal.

If you were a parent to one of these rare cases, you would probably understand the complexity of the issue and empathize with it yourself.

All youth require the support and acceptance of their family, peers, and communities to thrive. Transgender and gender-nonconforming youth are no exception; their health and well-being is heavily influenced by the institutions and communities that surround them. Although youth who identify as a gender other than the one assigned to them at birth have among the highest rates of suicide, depression, and self-harm, a supportive and safe environment can significantly reduce these risks. Ensuring that transgender youth are referred to according to their identified genders, and with their chosen names, is a critical factor in establishing this type of environment.

You have not defined the term "gender non-binary person" per my Rule #1, nor have you provided a clear example of the existence of any sex other than male or female, or any sex chromosome other than X or Y, per my Rule #2.

Why do you personally need to be convinced of something and why do you need others to do the convincing? Go read up on it. Make up your mind. Whatever conclusion you come to...keep it to yourself because there are people out there trying to live their lives without people like you unconvinced they should live it...that way...which has zero impact on your life.

Hallucination. No such claim was made.

Even hermaphrodites remain in adherence to the binary system of which I describe in my OP (namely, that the only two sexes are male & female and that the only two sex chromosomes are X & Y), as the very position of "it is difficult to determine male or female" itself assumes the existence of a binary male/female system.

My request of you, on the other hand, is to first define what a "gender non-binary person" supposedly is, and to then provide me with an example of the existence of a third sex (other than male or female) and a third sex chromosome (other than X or Y). You have yet to do this, therefore I have yet to change my mind.

This is much like gay marriage. Even if I "don't believe" in it, it is still a legal reality and folks that participate in such a marriage do not hurt me by doing so.

So, is this a legal reality? Yes, you can even get driver licenses in most state that list your gender as "X"...
Does it hurt me if they do this? No. Even if I think they are delusional, it doesn't hurt me to let them do as they want.

Do I think we should curb folks' freedoms because you don't believe in something? No. I don't care if you believe in something different, you get to act accordingly. That's what freedom is all about.

The term "gender non-binary person" is nothing more than meaningless gibberbabble, whether or not it happens to be a "legal reality", as it is something that doesn't exist in human anatomy (and cannot even be defined, as is being shown by everyone-so-far who has completely ignored my thread rules via refusing to define the term and refusing to provide me with a supposed "third option" with regard to sex and sex chromosomes). Without this, it can only be reasonably concluded that this system is binary (thus "non-binary" does not exist within this system).

This isn't about feelings (or even about freedom); this is about human anatomy (and being honest about it rather than deluding ourselves with gibberbabble).

It just means the person doesn't identify as either male or female.

Right, babble on about your belief in what you think is right, just don't expect me to care. Much like gay marriage, I just don't give a crap if you "believe in it"... No matter what you think happens here these folks will still be going around being treated like this by the law even if you don't "believe in it".

My sentiments exactly! Live and let live- Parents and teachers both struggle to deal with LGBTQ issues, and therefore politics as usual has to stop.

Politics needs to stay out of the classroom.

No one I see is promoting LGBTQ.

What I have seen are people trying to help deal with the issues LGBTQ brings to society because of ignorance and misunderstanding on how or why it should be addressed to begin with.

Children are smarter than people think. I had a friend who said he left an unused rubber laying on his nightstand. His 8 year old daughter discovered it and asked- "Hey Dad, what are you going to do with this"? He said he just told her he was going to catch a mouse with it. His daughter asked him, "Really? What are you going to do with it, try to FUCK it"?

Regardless of one's "belief" or any nonsensical laws that people come up with, the sex of humans is a binary system (thus there is no such thing as a "non-binary person").


You will notice that not a single person has:

[1] Clearly and unambiguously defined the term "non-binary person".
[2] Identified and explained some "third sex" other than male or female.
[3] Identified and explained some "third sex chromosome" other than X or Y.
