Things are looking GREAT for Liberals!

I keep hearing all this divisive talk amongst the pinhead masses, about how the uber-libs are miffed at the Big O, downright disgruntled, in fact! There's even talk of a Dennis Kusinich challenge to Obama for the nomination in '12. Now, this was his second most loyal base, African-Americans being his strongest. So, it's really enjoyable as a conservative, to see this much disunity and disillusionment happening on the left. But being the caring soul that I am, I wanted to give you my perspective of this, and it's not too bad for you guys!

I actually think Liberals have much to look forward to in the next two years. If this tax cut/unemployment extension bill gets passed, it gives liberals the campaign issue of how Republicans gave tax cuts to millionaires. That message will surely win over a few who succumb to class envy, and jump on that bandwagon. But what astounds me the most is, Obama may have just secured his re-election with this, he managed to get a $900 billion "stimulus" package passed, by a lame duck Congress on the heels of a monumental political defeat in November. That is mighty goddamn impressive, if you ask me! The effects of $900 billion pumped back into the economy, will be realized... and who will get to take credit for that? Bush? It was his tax cuts that Obama extended... but I imagine Democrats and Obama will take full credit for anything good happening with the economy in the next two years.

More good news for liberals, the Hillary Threat has been all but eliminated. Obama is being touted as this Great Moderate now, and that steals her opportunity to challenge on that front. If Obama had continued his trek to the uber-left as he was heading, there is a serious chance Hillary could have mounted a formidable challenge for the nomination. That chance appears to be gone now, although talks of a Uber-Lib challenge, are starting to emerge. From a political standpoint, this may push Obama even further to the center, as he grapples with the reality of governing and the fantasy of liberal ideologues.

The Dream Act and Don't Ask Don't Tell are DOA, they won't get passed, so the liberals can still go out there chastising mean old Republicans who didn't have the heart to give illegal alien children a decent education! ...and knuckledragging homophobic mouth-breathers who hate gay people and don't want them to serve in the military! Lots of good talking points there, even if it was done under a fully Democrat-controlled lame duck Congress.

Finally, I am most appreciative this has finally gotten Liberals to start talking about the debt and deficit spending! They keep bringing it up in conversation now, and before, they seemed completely oblivious to it, as if Washington D.C. just had this endless pile of money to spend on whatever they could dream up! But now, liberals are actually starting to talk about the debt and deficit spending. And that's a Good Thing! It's going to make things a whole lot easier when we start having to make the hard choices on what we cut. Now that we can all be on board with eliminating the debt, maybe we can pass an amendment to balance the budget? Maybe there's hope for bipartisanship after all? Hey, I'm optimistic!

Dixie, there is this saying that applies to you and pinheads, we are damned if we do and damned if we don't!

We will never be as perfect as yourself, but it is my Christmas wish to get close and a lump of coal, too.

Aww thanks Rana, my Christmas wish is to get close to you as a lump of coal too! Maybe we can meet halfway, in Kansas? :)

We've been talking about it since Bush's unfunded wars and since Cheney told us deficits don't matter and since billions were delivered to the rich with no return for the country except lack of work, where you been?

Down the memory hole I guess.

They have already started to make those hard choices Dixie...

WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans on Thursday derailed a bill to aid people who got sick after exposure to dust from the World Trade Center's collapse in the Sept. 11 attack.

Supporters were three votes short of the 60 needed to proceed to debate and a final vote on the bill that would have provided as much as $7.4 billion in health care and compensation to 9/11 responders and survivors. The bill failed on a test vote, 57-42.

Fifty-seven Democrats voted for the bill and 41 Republicans opposed it.

Yep, back when Reagan was talking that way, too!
