They attacked us on 9/11 because of "our freedoms".

If we don't fight in the Iraqi Civil War, they'll follow us home.

Global warming and climate change is a hoax.

Government should not support stem cell research.

A woman who is violently raped, could or should be forced by the government to carry the fetus and give birth.

An embryo/blasocyst is a human being.

Waterboarding, suffocation, and electrocution of detainess suspected of knowing about an imminent attack, are a justifiable and effective ways of combating terror and obtaining accurate information.

Oh, and don't believe in evolution. It's a fraud.

It's very much the daddy party. And I think that women who want a stern daddy, are very much attracted to this crap. You don't really get forced by the government to bear a child from a rape...you're forced by Daddy Brownback. He knows what's best for you.

I watched that, and I guess I understand very much how some black people feel when they say things like "uncle tom" that so infuriate black conservatives. I feel the same way about the women in this party. You know, you disgust me, and that's it.

Totally.

You know, this isn't my father's republican party. They hate science for some reason, they view women as second class citizens, they hate the environment, they love war and torture.

I may be misrembering, but my father's GOP - the party of Eisenhower - was very pro-active in passing good environmental legislation, promoting and embracing science, and some of them had a decent record on voting rights and civil rights.

They hate science because it's inconvenient truths get in the way of profit.

They view women as second class citizens , because they think they are.

They love war and torture, because suffering is only for the "little people".

I learned to call them grave diggers.
Cause they are digging in the mid term started whole to deeper depths for the Republican party.

They look as if they will get smashed in 08 which is fine with me:clink:

Sam Brownback thinks he has a uterus.

During last night’s presidential debate, Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) repeatedly motioned to his stomach to argue against pro-choice policies.

“Here in the womb,” he said, there “is a child that we’re talking about doing this to.” Brownback argued specifically for prohibiting rape and incest victims from obtaining an abortion.

LOL! I noticed that, but I forgot all about it. It was so strange.

I will say it again, as I have in the past.

If one truly believes that it is a child in the uterus then there is no reasonable moral argument to allow its deliberate ending other than to save the life of another. This was his argument, though not particularly well expressed.

One would not take the son/daughter of a rapist and, because their father was a rapist, give them the death penalty.

That another doesn't believe that it is a child doesn't take away the validity of the argument based on his belief.

Damo, do you point to your womb when saying this, and then place both hands around your stomach as if you were cradling your fetus?

And you forgot to add, with a really pained expression, that it's a terrible situation, before you went on to explain why you would force a woman who had just been forced to fuck some stranger, to bear his child.

You should never forgot that, Brownback doesn't. If I can't feel that you and Brownback feel my pain, then the daddy thing doesn't work as well. Practice.

Like I said, poorly expressed. It is simply ad hominem to attack his body language rather than the point made.

Regardless of the terrible situation that you want me to repeat, as if I don't actually realize it. You must be quick to forget my personal reasons and understanding of this particular subject to attempt to limit my understanding by fiat without regard to circumstance.

That I chose not to emote all over you in presenting that argument has nothing to do with another. I simply re-expressed his point using different words.

Tell me. If you believed it was a child what argument would there be for its death? (And if you have read previous posts on this subject made by myself you would know that I am not expressing my actual personal belief in this post. Don't be obtuse, don't assume a vacuum, don't pretend that we don't have actual history on this subject here.)

I simply express that argument so that others can, if they so choose to have open minds to other's beliefs, understand why somebody might make that argument.

I thought that your personal belief was that a fetus is a life and therefore shouldn't be terminated under any circumstances. Why are you always making arguments, and then saying later, well that's not my personal belief, and then expecting others to remember what you argued that you did personally believe and what you argued that someone else personally believed.

If I believed that it was a child, what argument would there be for its death? The fact that my beliefs are mine, and I'm in no position to tell another woman what she has to do, based on my beliefs. It's so simple it astounds me that this escapes men like Brownback, who I never want to see in my hospital room, and if I do see him in there, I will puncture his testicles with the nearest scapal, which, will give him two things; a suprise that he has balls and not a womb, and something to hold onto other than the non-existant fetus he thinks he is carrying.

Damo, that you are even under the impression that most women could have an "open mind' so someone like Brownback who wants to force them to carry a pregancy resulting from a rape to term, shows that no matter what you might thing, you're still somewhat out of touch on this.

Because I have never argued that it is a "person" or "child". And in this one specifically stated that I was re-expressing his statement and never made any statement that I was expressing my personal belief.

Why do you always assume my argument rather than listen to it?

So let's extrapolate. If I believe that an infant isn't a person, or a child, that means that when I kill it you wouldn't judge me because my belief was different than yours?

They draw the line in a different place than you do. If you honestly believed that the fetus was the exact same thing as the infant what possible moral argument could you make for its death?

I don't know, I don't feel like I do that. I don't really read much of what men say about abortion, I might have just read over it.
