Think this will be a nationwide trend?

Well, I’d take that with a grain of salt. The last thing our corporate media want is an economic populist. That is why the media mantra has been, Hillary Obama Hillary Obama Hillary Obama Hillary Obama…and no one mentions that all polls show John Edwards to blow away all Republican candidates in a General. Blow out. Blow out.
It looks to me as if the Republican base has tuned out the corporate whores telling them who their candidate is going to be, and kept their own counsel. And whatever I think of Huckabee, or of them, I’ll tip my hat to them on that.
You know Damo, they might.....and then they might deserve to. I have never voted for a democratic presidential candidate in all of my voting life. Not because I believe in all that the republicans stand for but because they align (or at least claimed to) more closely with my moral values which for me are of paramount importance. When this campaign first started and I started seeing all of the names dropped in the hat I didn't find one that I liked until Huckabee entered. I never thought he had a chance but due to his recent surge, which I don't think will last, I am having fun with it. I actually look forward to watching the news now. Then as I look at his record I find more and more that I like about him, and the fact that he is worrying folks like Mitt Romney (who I will vote for if he gets the nomination) makes it even more fun. Now it'd be nice if Rudy (who I will NOT vote for) is forced to perk up and take notice.
The problem that I have with Huckabee is his fiscal irresponsibility. We do not need to continue to add more to this debt because of a misplaced idea of what compassion is. Nor do we need more extremely violent people "forgiven" before they paid their just due because of a false sense of what forgiveness is supposed to be.
