I had never heard of Kinky Friedman before until I read something about him today, he is just fantastic.

As you say, 13% is pretty good if you're an independant candidate. Plus there was another independent in the race as well so he would have done even better.

I agree; but just like other unknowns, they just can't seem to get enough backing.

I kind of figured, what with you being in England and all, that there was a pretty good chance you had not heard of him. Probably the only reason I know of him his because I lived in Texas when I was a kid and have been back many times to visit friends and family. I know there are great musicians in the U.K. that I would love but will never hear of.
