THIS IS FOR TODAY!

I hope there are people here who realize why this was posted.

Fact is...it may honor the winners or the losers...depending on perspective.

Anyone?

Is Yank Apenis going to return his scrap of New Jersey to the natives in reparation?

Unless he does, I don't think he really gives a fuck.

Meanwhile, let's enjoy the spectacle of a native appropriating Black culture during the Obama years:

"Official City of San Diego Flag

Official City of San Diego FlagThe official flag of the City of San Diego was adopted by the City Council on Oct. 16, 1934, when a sample banner was submitted by Albert V. Mayrhofer, on behalf of the California Historical Association, Native Sons of the Golden West, Native Daughters of the Golden West, and The San Diegans.

The flag is composed of three vertical bars, from left to right, red, white and gold. In the center white field is the official seal of the City and beneath it the date "1542," the year explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo first entered San Diego Bay and claimed the area for Spain. The use of the three vertical bars is reminiscent of the colors of the flag of Spain, which flew over Cabrillo's ship."

Anglos in Jamestown might celebrate 1609, people in San Diego celebrate 1542.

Did I win a prize? >°°<

Yeah...you get to enter the next contest free. ;)

For the record, I am still conflicted on this issue.

Custer served the Union honorably...although what the Union did to the Native American tribes was FAR from honorable.

Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, and Chief Gall were intelligent, gallant leaders of the Indian forces...and the Sioux and Cheyenne were a formidable fighting force.

It was a battle...the Indians won...Custer lost.

Eventually the Indians lost, too.
