The Tulsa race riot, or Tulsa race riot of 1921, occurred between May 31 and June 1, 1921, when a white mob started attacking residents and businesses of the African-American community of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in what is considered one of the worst incidents of racial violence in the history of the United States. The attack, carried out on the ground and by air, destroyed more than 35 blocks of the district, at the time the wealthiest black community in the nation. More than 800 people were admitted to hospitals and more than 6,000 black residents were arrested and detained, many for several days. The Oklahoma Bureau of Vital Statistics officially recorded 39 dead, but the American Red Cross estimated 300, a number supported by historians since then.


In either case, the white man led the charge.

Um, I don't know that this dude is a racist, but I do know he is a white male.

I do know most, if not all, mass shooters are white males.........those are facts.

Facts we need to deal with instead of blaming everything else.

And I have all the friends I need in real life, I don't come here to make friends.

And the facts are, a white male has been at the head of all mass murders in this country.

But whites would rather stop and frisk Black males and believe they are the most dangerous people on earth.

The gun problem is a white America problem. Those are the facts.

I'm not sure I get what your saying. Are you saying I should not point out facts about whites because they don't like it, and I wont make friends?

For the record. I'm not trying to get white people to do anything, I'm just speaking my opinion and facts on a message board.

Some discussions require white people to hear the truth about themselves, even when they aren't racist. And the gun issue is a white people problem as both racist and non racist own guns, and lots of them.

Blacks legally couldn't own guns, we weren't considered human at the time, and when we did get the "right" to own guns, laws were made to make sure guns stayed out of our hands as much as possible. Reagan instituted gun control to keep Blacks from open carrying in CA. Mulford Act "would work no hardship on the honest citizen" - Ronald Reagan. Honest citizen = white citizen

A Black person can't own a gun today without being shot by kops when they see it or think they see it.

Lets be real. What I say won't make anyone racist. They are already racist. If they use the excuse I'm making them racist then, that's absurd. Also what I say won't change the mind of a racist either. A racist will always be a racist, but we can keep them from being in power where they make laws.,

I also despise non racist whites who don't want to hear the truth about themselves. They are not exempt from criticism. They are responsible for things as well, like gun control. Blacks and other minorities have issues we need to deal with as well.

I completely agree with you on this not being the largest mass murder in this country. The massacre and destruction of Black Wall Street had as many victims as 9/11.

I do not agree that all white people, or white males are to blame. White people elected Obama .. by far. We cannot paint them all with the same broad brush racists paint us with. That's never been the answer.

If we are to create a better society for future generations, we need white people, Hispanics, Asians, Muslims, Jews and everybody else as partners in that effort. We don't need racists, white supremacists, and like vermin .. so the question is, how do we separate those we need from those we don't?

Answer: they separate themselves. Not very difficult at all to make that separation on this board. The same is true throughout society .. they separate themselves.

White people separate themselves from racist vermin .. at least the good ones do. Those who coddle racists .. we don't need either.

Point being, this is a time of great upheaval and transition .. and we must choose both friend and enemy wisely. We cannot fight this evil with the tactics of the 60's .. nor should we because we are not alone in our rejection of racist evil .. but, even then, the movement of Civil Rights would not have been possible without the support and active participation of racist-rejecting white people.

One of my heroes of Civil Rights was Republican Senator Everett Dirksen, whose speech 'The Time Has Come' drove republicans to support the Civil Rights Act .. and they did so in a greater percentage than did democrats.

As you know, I do not presume to tell you what to think .. only ask that you consider this thought.

If you research, you will see most mass murders in this country are committed by white males. That's a fact.

And white males, racist white males, were behind the massacre in Tulsa. That's a fact.

Not sure how those two facts got twisted into me saying all whites are racist.
