A white police officer fired after he fatally shot a black unarmed motorist will get about $344,000 in back pay and legal fees from the University of Cincinnati, the school said Thursday.

The university is paying Ray Tensing to settle a union grievance brought on his behalf for his 2015 firing, following his indictment on murder charges. The charges were dropped last year after two juries deadlocked.

The Fraternal Order of Police had challenged Tensing's firing, saying he shouldn't have been removed from the university's police force before the case was resolved. As part of the settlement, the union said, Tensing has resigned and will not pursue any other claims against the university.

"This case has caused a lot of strife in the community, and I believe the settlement will allow for healing to continue," said Tensing, 28. "It certainly will do that for me after two difficult trials."

my history of 'anti' cop posts on here SHOULD show you that the only color I have issue with is blue. that being said, i'm sure i've posted about a black cop who shot an unarmed white individual and has gotten backpay.

bottom line, this isn't white privilege, it's blue privilege. turning it in to a white/black thing is only helping the government keep us divided. it's also why there should be state contstitutional amendments that prohibit public servant unions and prohibits insurance policies to protect from excessive force lawsuits.

that is exactly what i'm saying........that's my opinion at least. ask anyone here, i'm all about hating the blue

I don't Hate Police Officers ... I have plenty in my family and my Father was a State Policeman. My Father never came close to Shooting anyone, let alone someone unarmed. He took pulling his Gun from the holster serious, something skilled Police Officer use to do.

Now .... the ranks are Full Scared Cowards and Cowboys ... that a quote from my Father, not me, and he should know more than most.

maybe they should design special cell phones for black people that cops can tell are not guns

they seem to recognize them when white people carry them

maybe ones that emit a special message to cops

"PLEASE DONT KILL MY OWNER"

"I'm just a cell phone"
