Thompson Thanks "The Lord"

...for saving his life from lymphoma on today's Meet The Press.

But, was it "The Lord" who saved Fred Thompson? Or was it the access to the best doctors and health care facilities he enjoys, and is running for President in order to keep you and me from enjoying too?

Let's see, in one corner we have some all-powerful, nebulous creator, who took one look at Thompson's charpe-like face and said "I am going to save this child of mine" while at the same time ignoring his beautiful 6 year old child in Afghanistan who had his face burned off by an American bomb, and not yet knowing two things; his face was gone and his father was dead - tired to comfort his crying mother by telling "don't worry mommy, it's going to be ok".

Access to the best doctors and medical treatments in the world.

Hmmm. I don't know, I'm not convinced it was The Lord's doing.

I think it's more subtle than that.

The Lord made Fred rich so that Fred could pay for top quality health care so that Fred could beat lymphoma.

NOT taking other peoples money to fund something is NOT keeping you from having anything.
Is your neighbor's bigger house keeping you from owning one? Why would someone else's healthcare plan keep you from having one?
You want it, you pay for it. Politicians pay and benefits should be lower, I agree with that, but the answer is not to try and bankrupt the nation by using government taxes to force everyone to pay so that you have the same extra perks.
