those damned sheriffs offices

Broward Sheriffs office to stop serving and protecting florida city that owes him 6 million dollars..

You get what you pay for, and that applies even in the world of public safety.

The Broward Sheriff's Office has decided to drastically cut services to Lauderdale Lakes because the city has fallen behind in its monthly payments, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

"Let me be clear, we are not abandoning the residents of Lauderdale Lakes, but during these strained economic times, I have an obligation to the taxpayers of Broward County to ensure that services are provided based on allocated funding," Sheriff Al Lamberti wrote in a Nov. 5 e-mail notifying city leaders of the pending change.

The city owes about $6 million, which in these economic times isn't pocket change for a small city. Just last week, the City Commission approved another one-year deal with BSO.

isn't that a bitch. a public service agency that doesn't have the common decency towards their fellow man for police protection unless they pay up the 6 Million owed to them.

it's actually more of a jab at taichilibtard, because of his rant about the fire department fiasco from before.

Here's the solution.

AIG will receive $22 billion from TARP. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6A03EK20101101

Considering AIG insures against personal injury, property damage, auto, etc. it would be to their advantage to ensure adequate police protection in order to prohibit claims sure to arise out of a lack of police presence.

So, write a check for $6 million from the $22 billion.

Let's not forget that old saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." In any case, after all is said and done, I'm sure $6 million can be shuffled on the books when they pay back the loan. And what's $6 million on a $10 trillion deficit, anyway? No one will notice. :D
