Where were you?

I was sitting in 8th grade art class. I remember the teacher started bawling. Sad sad event.

Weird I don't remember exactly where I was when I heard about it. I remember being very horrified especially at the salacious news coverage. I think that was the first time I ever noticed how horrible reporters are.

I was outside between classes, a girl Ive known my whole life said, look up, the space shutle exploded. I called her a liar and went to Sicence class where we were alowed to watch about 10 min's of the news until the teacher turned it off.

I saw the vapor trails but did not belive it because it seemed such an impossable thing.

Keiko Matsui .. whom I adore .. wrote a song that she dedicated to Dr. Ronald McNair, PhD, .. who lost his life in the 1986 Challenger disaster.

Any mention of that fateful day sends A Drop of Water flowing into my mind. It personalizes the tragedy for me.

Worth listening to.

I was in my senior year of college. I was sitting in my apartment watching the launch. A friend of mine had come over to watch the launch before we went to class for the day (we both had afternoon classes). We watched the whole sad thing unfold.

I was working in Bangkok and just about to get on a plane to Singapore to renew my visa. I read about it in the Bangkok Post that I bought at Don Muang airport.

I was in class watching it on TV. When it blew up I shouted out and told everybody it just blew up.., but they didn't believe me until they finally heard some dude on TV say it. Then in the next class I told everybody what I just saw, and they didn't believe me either until the teacher came in crying to announce what I already knew from the previous class.

Does anyone remember as much about the Columbia disaster or the names of the astrouauts? Funny how different that was, because it was the second shuttle disaster? Because there was no footage of the actual explosion? Because it was a different place and time?

So your being an idiot is not something new to you?

They didn't believe you? Nice to know some things don't change, eh Damo? ;)

I have a vivid memory of wathcing it on TV at my neighbors house before school, but I have no idea why I was still there at the time of the explosion. I used to wait there for the bus when it was cold out, but school should have been well underway. Weird.

The art class I was in was the class right before lunch so me think Young Dung may have been playing some hookey from school.

It's totally bizarre. I've treid to piece it together and come up with some reason why I was at my neighbor's house at the time and I come up blank every time. It makes no sense to me at all. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I was sick or something, but I don't remember being sick.
