I am really enjoying writing lately. I hope at least a few of you enjoy this.

I wasn’t your first dance, your first kiss,
your first love, your first lover, your first heartbreak
But I was the first me that you ever met
You write so well and so often and so deeply of your emotions
Of the pain inflicted on you and still in you
I am honored that in your poetic catharses
you spared me from the purge
But, maybe just once after all this time
as a token of gratitude to someone who loved you
and felt the searing heat of your tears
get out your pen and bring me to life.
