Tropicana Field: American Dumb

Dumb 1) Building an event venue that wont stand up to a hurricane in Florida.

Dumb 2) Trying to use it during a hurricane anyways.
 
This is on the scale of dumb like Sound Transit buying cheap indoor escalators when they needed sturdy outdoor escalators. Of course they failed almost instantly, then ST had to rip them all out and replace them with the right thing....in the end the whole thing cost something five times more than it should have....in part keeping the junk running best they could till they could be replaced.

I dont remember how many, but it was a lot.
 
The Chinese and the Russians are of course laughing their asses off....we running around the world claiming to be a great power when we cant even manage this.
 
Netanyahu and Zelensky have picked a bad time to ask Biden for permission to start WW3. The geriatric dotard is likely to give it.
 
It sure looks like Tampa did not get hit too bad....10 inches of rain, 85mph winds, but almost no storm surge when 12-15 feet was predicted.

In America, we spell it rumor.

DeSantis put first responders in Tropicana Field, even though FEMA did not approve it as hurricane resistant. He assumed that a stadium would be hurricane resistant like magic.
