Trump Arrives on the Khashoggi Murder.

I can't read Trump's statement.

I don't see why not?

US President Trump has said that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “could very well” have known in advance about the plan to kill journalist Jamal Khashoggi, but the US will remain a “steadfast partner” of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement released Tuesday, Donald Trump said that Khashoggi’s murder was an “unacceptable and horrible crime,” and that as American intelligence agencies continue to investigate the case, “it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event.”

I hope it's not because you refuse to get breaking news from RT.

The print is tiny on the statement insert and I can't manipulate it larger. I'd like to read the whole statement.

You'll probably be able to find it on some other news source. I wouldn't rely on RT exclusively, just that it shouldn't be excluded. And I would keep a close eye on Al Jazeera, English too.

President Trump said Tuesday the U.S. would maintain a "steadfast partner" with Saudi Arabia in a striking statement that described the world as a violent place and made it clear the administration does not want the killing of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi to tarnish the relationship between the two nations.

In the lengthy statement, Trump said "we may never know" who was responsible for the killing of Khashoggi even though the CIA has reportedly concluded that Prince Mohammed ordered his assassination.

"Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event — maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!" the president said.

"The United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region. It is our paramount goal to fully eliminate the threat of terrorism throughout the world!" the statement said.

If it's a conflicting message you're probably better off believing RT news.

If it's Trump's message then you'll hear him say one thing and then the opposite an hour later. It's quite surprising how many americans have bought into that bullshit.

If MBS had him killed that was a really dumb moved because he played right into the hands of the MB and Iran.

Trump is setting the US up to look like idiots in this matter...

...and he will get heavy return fire from people on both sides of the aisle.

He is a fucking lunk-head.

What do you mean with MB? I think Iran is the most important consideration in all this, even though I would say that Iran is out of bounds for the US/Israel now. I would say that the only route to Iran now is in Saudi military pressure that's slow and relentless. Much like US military pressure on Syria that is cautious in not pushing Russia too far.

In the case of Syria, it seems that it's being negotiated between the US and Russia on how much military might the US applies. And vice versa.

Khashoggi was an advocate for MB and regime change in KSA.. Erdogan is just thrilled with developments.

Nothing positive is happening in Syria... and there's no end in sight.

o.k. thanks. I didn't know you were referring to MBS as MB.

No, Syria is almost a stalemate now but Russia may be considering that enough has been accomplished already and we're seeing it as good as it's going to get. I think it's an indicator of the same sort of stalemate happening with Iran. The Jew's apartheid state is not going to attack Iran because there's too much chance of it going nuclear. By that I mean that the conventional attack on Israel by Iran would be so devastating that Israel would have no choice, and neither would the US of course once it's started. The MAD factor looks after that problem for us.

Israel wouldn't be able to stand an Iranian attack and I believe that Israel knows very well that any large scale attack on it's territory by the US is going to result in an allout attack by Iran on Israel. The positive note on all this is that it's unthinkable. Knowing full well that the Trump/Bolton factor is the wild card. But also knowing that Trump will be handcuffed by greater powers before he's allowed to do something that stupid.

That's my quick analysis. Any further ideas of your own?

My mistake.. MBS is Muhammed bin Salman.. MB is Muslim Brotherhood. Khashoggi was an advocate for MBand regime change in KSA..

I don't think Israel will attack Iran ever.. Israel has always been like "you and him fight"... Israel doesn't want a sustained war in Iran ..

Thanks again! And I agree on Israel not attacking Iran directly at least. Shoot down a few Iranian aircraft over Syria at worst.

Trump/Bolton might think an attack on Iran is possible but wiser heads will intervene in time to stop them. This bodes well for the Kennedy solution for Trump if it becomes necessary!

I think Bolton is REAL creepy.. I sat next to him flying out of KSA for about 10 minutes before I changed seats.. and Trump doesn't know anything about the ME.
