He says one is expired. It's an astonishing seizure if true. Flight risk would be an obvious purpose in which case the handcuffs are coming in the very near future.
I don't think a US president would need a passport at all. I don't think Joe shows the Secret Service his when he boards AF1. So no reason for trump to have more than one, regular USA baseball and hot dog passport.

Trump is no longer president. However I bet the proper paperwork is completed when a US President travels abroad.
They could seize a diplomatic passport if it was no longer valid, its the property of the Untied States.
