In a candid moment on inauguration day, US President Donald Trump appears to be suggesting there is nothing left of Gaza, making it ripe for beach front resort development and recolonisation for Israel.

Though it was brief, many saw it as setting the tone for the next four years—by a president who puts his business interests ahead of human rights and who doesn't seem to see a future for Palestinians living in liberty and dignity.

"Gaza is like a massive demolition site. The place, it's really got to be rebuilt in a different way," he said, addressing reporters on the ceasefire and future of the enclave.

When asked by a reporter if he would help rebuild it, Trump said, "I might. You know, Gaza is interesting. It's a phenomenal location, on the sea. The best weather, you know, everything is good. It's like, some beautiful things could be done with it, but it's very interesting. But some fantastic things could be done with Gaza."

When asked how he sees the future governance in Gaza, he said that "you certainly can't have the people that were there. Most of them are dead, by the way."

"We want to prevent any kind of security vacuum," said Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of the Hamas-run Gaza government media office. He said that some 700 police were protecting aid convoys and not a single truck had been looted since Sunday – a contrast to the massive theft of food by criminal gangs during the conflict.
A spokesperson for the United Nations in Geneva confirmed on Tuesday there had been no reports of looting or attacks on aid workers since the ceasefire took effect.

Only someone who is manifestly unfamiliar with history would think pushing the Gazans and other Palestinians to the surrounding Arab countries is an "idea".

The surrounding Arab countries explicitly didn't WANT them in their countries so that they could ensure that the discomfort Israel felt would never stop.

And as for "that's where they came from", that's a load of crock as well. There were non-jewish people living in Israel LONG before the state of Israel was founded in the 1940's.

If you want to go back to "bible times" then just remember who invaded WHOM in the Old Testament. Read the book of Joshua for a refresher.
