MOSCOW, March 23. /TASS/. Instead of addressing the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict, Europe is only exacerbating them by increasing military spending and considering the deployment of its troops in Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, calling the situation a paradox.

"On one hand, Europe should be genuinely interested in peace. Yet, it is now talking about war and pursuing its own militarization. <...> It’s a paradox: instead of seeking to eliminate the root causes of the conflict, Europe is only multiplying them. And without addressing those causes, it is impossible to stop the war. Instead, Europe is discussing the potential deployment of NATO contingents in Ukraine," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov expressed bewilderment that Europeans are questioning where to find €800 billion - not for healthcare or infrastructure development, but for militarization. On the contrary, he stressed that European countries should be interested in "tearing down all the walls" of obstacles with Russia and pursuing mutually beneficial development in harmony.

"It’s a paradox - there’s no other way to describe it while Europe’s militaristic policy is in place," he added.

Multiple people on my grapevine have called Starmer a flimsy Churchill knock off...probably not as dumb as Macron but close.
