Trump fires 17 inspectors general/Swamp enforcers.

It is an odd thing to do if trump wants to get rid of waste, but I think we all know trump wants to create waste, not get rid of it. These watchdogs spend almost nothing, and catch real waste.

By tradition, these political appointees are rarely removed. In fact, some of them were appointed by trump, and kept by Biden. But by law, they are political appointees, and trump can remove them.

The hairy part comes that Congress has passed laws that these positions exist. For trump to fire them is OK, but he is required to appoint new people to these positions. he is not just allowed to eliminate them.

trump is hoping to buy a few months of waste and corruption, before the courts require him to appoint new people to these positions.
