Yet, they are calculating leaders — and they know weakness when they see it. For years now, they have studied Donald Trump, and their verdict is clear: the American president is not a leader they take seriously.

trump has magnified the problem with a free society like America. Every 4 years there is regime change. In the past there were minor policy differences that might or might not directly affect trade, defense, etc..

Certain issues were considered non negotiable by both parties. trump acts on whims and rage. The world cannot take him seriously because he's not only the stupidest human to ever occupy the White House, but he is a gross failure at everything he attempts. He continuously shows that nothing is stable in this nation, despite agreements that are made.

His overcompensation for his stupidity and impotence causes him to challenge everyone he comes in contact with. He seems to think that everything is a zero sum game with clear winners and losers.

That is not what the Founders envisioned for the leader of the nation. Nor did they ever believe that voters would be so stupid as to allow him into the position.

No amount of claiming the two were 'loved' by foreign leaders (clearly not true), will change any of that. Both made America weak on the world stage and often the doormat of foreign leaders.
