Trump: I would have run into school during shooting even without a gun

President Trump on Monday claimed he would have run into a Florida high school to prevent a gunman from carrying out this month's mass shooting.

"I really believe I'd run in there even if I didn't have a weapon,” Trump told a gathering of governors at the White House. The president was doubling down on his criticism of an armed sheriff’s deputy who did not confront the shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were killed earlier this month.

Trump also told the governors he ate lunch last weekend with leaders of the National Rifle Association.

"Don't worry about the NRA,” Trump told the governors. ”They're on our side.”

Trump is a big time draft dodger. He got out of Vietnam with 4 deferments. Nobody knows what they would do but how big an asshole do you have to be to say that? Yeah, Trump would have run in there with his 5 iron and would have taken the kid down. When will you rightys figure out what a jerk and liar you put in office?

It's a panic move. I've seen woodchucks do that in the street when a car is approaching, as well.

I really don't think Trump is a brave person, and this is strictly my opinion based on observing him for years. It tends to be the guys who talk the loudest who are the 1st to go into the fetal position. I thought the same thing when he said that McCain isn't really a war hero. Can't imagine him going through even a day of what McCain endured.

Honestly, I have no idea what they're circumstances were like at that time, or what the protocol was for them. I wouldn't call them heroes or say they failed; I just don't know enough. I thought Trump's comments about them were somewhat ironic, given his comments about the left's disparagement of law enforcement previously.
