After defying conventional wisdom, Republican Party dogma and many of his own advisers by announcing new steel and aluminum tariffs, President Donald Trump appears to be backpedaling on the brazen proposal.

The whole ridiculous saga reveals just how ill-equipped Trump is at being president.

When he initially decided on the plan, he reportedly said that the 25 percent tariff on foreign steel and 10 percent tariff on foreign aluminum would apply to all countries, because otherwise, everyone would ask for an exemption. Peter Navarro, director of the White House National Trade Council, said the same thing Sunday on CNN.

The story of how he hired Navarro is telling. He told Kushner to find him an expert on tariffs and protectionism so Kushner went to the Amazon website and googled some books. Peter Navarro wrote "Death by China".. so Kushner called him and Trump hired him.
 
Donald J. Trump is the most unqualified person ever elected to the presidency.

Surviving his term is going to be a challenge.

Surviving the aftermath of his term is going to be nearly impossible. The damage he is doing will live on long after he is out of office...and will infect our nation for generations.

The people who helped him get elected should be ashamed of themselves.

The people who still support him should be pitied.

Trump announces stuff like this so he can Pander to his deplorable base. He backs off this stuff and then blames Obama or blames the Congress or blame somebody for not being able to do it.

Yet, despite what you claim about him, Trump still beat Hillary. If someone you consider a half wit can do that, how bad was she.

Go ahead and say she wasn't a good candidate. That's typical of leftwingers to throw the ones they held in such high regard under the bus after they embarrass them in elections.

I have already said Hillary was not a good candidate.. too old and too much baggage... but Trump is evidence of a serious sickness in the US.

Let's see what we can rule out. You didn't vote Trump. You imply, although you haven't said, that you didn't vote Hillary. Who does that leave. Bernie (76 y/o), Gary Johnson (65 y/o), Jill Stein (67 y/o) or others that because of ideology can be ruled out. Care to admit which one those old folks you supported?

Hillary was highly qualified. She was a senator. She knew how bills are passed and was Secty of State. Went to Yale Law school and was a lawyer. Trump sold apartments. He put his name on other's buildings and ran a small management company. he went bankrupt at least 5 times. Easy to see who was better qualified.. ...Well, not for you, but people who can think.

And as usual, you changed the subject from Trumps fucking up to bitching about Hillary.

Lets help you again, you need it so badly. There are more than 10 times as many employees in businesses that buy steel and aluminum than in the steel industry. Users of steel have said that the tariffs would most likely result in job losses. Can you understand that
