former federal prosecutor said Donald Trump Jr. could face “significant criminal liability” for his campaign meeting with a Russian lawyer — who recently revealed new details about their conversation.

Renato Mariotti, a candidate for Illinois attorney general and a former federal prosecutor, said attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya revealed two significant details in a two-and-a-half hour interview with Bloomberg Politics.

“On one hand, she discussed with Trump Jr. the repeal of the Magnitsky Act, which punishes certain Russian officials for a murder,” Mariotti tweeted.

Russian president Vladimir Putin responded to the Obama-era sanctions by banning the adoptions of Russian children by U.S. citizens, which Trump Jr. said he discussed with the attorney, and neither the president’s son or son-in-law Jared Kushner dispute that the Magnitsky Act came up during the meeting

Right - the adoption ban is directly tied to the sanctions. So when they say they were talking about the adoption ban, they were really talking about the sanctions, and that's their cute way of trying to deceive people - like Bill Clinton's 'sexual relations' misleading.

I believe you need state level charges to avoid the pardon. Which is why trump is personally interviewing for AG in NY, and Fla.

I love the smell of Schadenfreude in the morning.

I don't know of any state charges Trump, Jr. violated, I think the play is to charge him and force Bone Spur's hand.

A pardon of his son very well might be the end of the Bone Spur's administration.

As was pointed out, he's interviewing state's attorneys, not AGs. You are correct about the AG in NY.

Florida States Attorneys are elected by county vote, not appointed, and Palm Beach County, Bone Spur's headquarters. is very unlikely to ever elect a Republican.

because hes an idiot

I'd like to think so, but he's right about one thing he said: He literally could shoot someone and the immoral morons that support him wouldn't care. If his son is convicted and Twittler pardons him, the morons will simply say "He's like me, we'd all do anything for family." Remember the popularity of shows like The Sopranos and The Godfather movies? The same people who admire the Mafia on some level voted for Trump.
