Make America Dumb Again

McMahon was made transition team chair in August, after having donated a whopping $814,600 to Trump’s campaign as of July. She previously served in Trump’s cabinet in his first administration as the administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019.

Just to be Secretary of Education?

It mostly attends to higher education and funding, student loans, etc.
Bullshit! The main focus of the Department of Education has long been K-12. All of their signature programs are aimed at that portion of education. Grants and loans are about all they do at the collegiate level.

Riddle me this:

How has the Department of Education made US education systems better than they were before its creation?
  • Invests $2.9 billion in educator preparation, development, and leadership — an increase of nearly $100 million over FY 2023 levels — including $30 million in Hawkins and $95 million in Teacher Quality Partnerships to build a diverse and well-prepared teacher pipeline, and $125 million to address shortages of special education teachers and providers.
    • Provides $200 million to expand Full-Service Community Schools that provide integrated student supports for students and their families, an increase of $50 million over FY 2023 enacted levels, more than doubling funding for this program since 2021.
    • Provides a total of $216 million for School Safety National Activities, which will provide $40 million in dedicated funding to meet the mental health needs of our students, school staff, and teachers and build on the Administration's historic progress in increasing the number of school counselors, school psychologists, social workers, and other health professionals serving our students within schools.

So?

The Department of Education has been a cabinet-level agency since 1980, and is responsible for numerous functions: designating federal aid, running the $1.6 trillion student loan program and enforcing civil rights laws.

So what? The department, on the whole is a complete waste of money. Loans and grants could be handled by a much smaller organization, and likely one that is mostly private run. Why is the DoE enforcing any laws? That's the purview of the Department of Justice. So far, you are giving a good argument for the DoE's abolition in totality.

Look, you are an uneducated idiot.
