I'm a retired federal worker, with a lifetime pension and I have all my medical, dental, and vision benefits too?!! Can you imagine a federal workforce made up of Trump, loyalist, ass-wipes, and sycophants with no experience necessary?!! Our government would no longer function?!!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House on Tuesday began offering buyouts worth seven months of salary to all federal employees who opt to leave their jobs by Feb. 6 — part of President Donald Trump’s unprecedented overhaul of the U.S. government.

A memo from the Office of Personnel Management, the government’s human resources agency, lists four directives that it says Trump is mandating for the federal workforce, including that most workers return to their offices full-time.

It includes a “deferred resignation letter” for federal employees wishing to participate.

“If you choose not to continue in your current role in the federal workforce, we thank you for your service to your country and you will be provided with a dignified, fair departure from the federal government utilizing a deferred resignation program,” the email reads. “This program begins effective January 28 and is available to all federal employees until February 6.”

It adds, “If you resign under this program, you will retain all pay and benefits regardless of your daily workload and will be exempted from all applicable in-person work requirements until September 30.”

That you have POS like Graham in the Senate and Johnson in the House just blowing off the FACT that this action is in direct violation of a law PASSED BY A BI-PARTISAN SENATE says it all.

On this particular subject, it's really just legal formalities .... something right wing wonks wailed about when the former Secty of Defense was out of office on medical emergency without formerly notifying the White House. But this type of autocratic hypocrisy and acquiescence by Dump and the MAGA GOP is what I'm afraid will be common place for at least the next 2 years.

These open buyouts are always destructive. The best workers, who have great alternatives, will take the buyout. The worst employees, who have nowhere else to go, will stay.

Worse yet, many times an entire team is dependent on one worker. That is the worker most likely to leave, meaning the rest of the team becomes ineffective.
