Less than three months after President Donald Trump complained that Americans have “too many non-working holidays” that cost the U.S. economy “billions of dollars,” the White House says he would not oppose adding one more — in honor of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Asked whether the president would support legislation to establish a 12th federal holiday to the calendar to commemorate Kirk, who was shot and killed earlier this month by an assassin in Utah, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt replied: “I'm sure he wouldn't oppose such a thing.”

Charlie Kirk changed my life! I attended a Young Black Leadership Summit. I was 14 at the time but Charlie told me it didn't matter how young I was, I could fight alongside him in this movement.

From then on, I attended every Conference every year. From 2018 to 2025.
I grew up in this movement. I became the person I am today because of the inspiration from Charlie Kirk and his organization.

I will never ever be the same without him, and this country will never be the same either. He was a husband, a father, a man of God, and a visionary for our nation."

Yeah, he was a real alter boy, how did you like his views on race and Black Americans

And no, I am not saying he should have been shot, rather that he was not quite the portrayal MAGA has created of him
