trump States are Welfars States

Well, let's see. This is from the OP link:

The ten states that have the highest number of SNAP recipients are:

1. California - 3,789,000
2. Texas - 3,406,000
3. Florida - 2,847,000
4. New York - 2,661,000
5. Illinois - 1,770,000
6. Pennsylvania - 1,757,000
7. Georgia - 1,424,000
8. Ohio - 1,383,000
9. North Carolina - 1,298,000
10. Michigan - 1,180,000

Here are the 10 states with the most welfare recipients:

1. New Mexico (21,368 per 100k)
2. West Virginia (17,388 per 100k)
3. Louisiana (17,388 per 100k)
4. Mississippi (14,849 per 100k)
5. Alabama (14,568 per 100k)
6. Oklahoma (14,525 per 100k)
7. Illinois (14,153 per 100k)
8. Rhode Island (13,904 per 100k)
9. Pennsylvania (13,623 per 100k)
10. Oregon (13,617 per 100k)

What do those two lists say about which states are getting the most welfare?

Some obvious conclusions:

The highest population states have the most SNAP recipients.

The only two states on both lists are Illinois and Pennsylvania. Both are Blue states--Pennsylvania might be called somewhat purple, but the urban areas with most of the population are definitely Blue.

Of the top five states that are high in welfare recipients, all but W. Virginia have a large proportion of Black and or Indigenous people living in them.

In the 2020 election most of the states on both lists went to Biden.
