Trump threatens government shut-down* if his "Wall" not $funded

President Trump has publicly announced his intention to shut down U.S. federal government if our Republican lead government does not fund construction of the "wall" candidate Trump promised Mexico would pay for.

* Majority Leader McConnell (R-KY) understands:
a) Republicans are in charge
b) the electorate knows the Republicans are in charge
c) the electorate PUT the Republicans in charge
d) the mid-term election is just a few months away
e) McConnell (R-KY) understands a government shut-down by the Republican party shortly before a political election is dysfunction that invites the electorate to reject Republican candidates. Thus
f) while President Trump (R-NY) presses his egotistical quest for a useless wall, Majority Leader McConnell (R-KY) strives to maintain Republican party political control. So which interest will win? Trump's ego? Or McConnell's lust for power?

Who will win?
 
Well if you have been paying attention the last 19 months, Trump will win, to answer the obvious.

The wall is already being built right under your noses, and Mexico is already funding the wall through the tariffs in the so called "trade war" :wink2:.
I don't know what else Trump has to do to convince you he is smarter than anyone before him.

He's playing chess while the Dems are playing checkers.
 
Do Democrats not care about border security? Or are they worried their supply of new voters would dry up if the border wall prevented Mexicans from crossing the border?
 
screw the worthless Republicans. They should have already brought up the wall.
They are not as hostile as Dems, but they are equally worthless to border security/immigration reform

In my personal, amateur opinion that is a plausible POLITICAL assessment.

BUT !!

Reductio ad absurdum:
Suppose congress knuckles under, authorizes $50 $Billion to pay Mexico's wall construction bill, and Trump gets his wall.

In what way is that a victory?

It means the People are out $50 $Billion, and it will not put an end to illegal immigration.

This "wall" issue is more about Trump's ego, than about U.S. national security.
