President Donald Trump must fire his attorney over a weekend tweet that seemingly admits to obstruction of justice, according to a Democratic lawmaker.
The president tweeted that he “had to fire” Mike Flynn for lying to the vice president and the FBI, which shows he knew his national security adviser had broken the law before asking then-FBI director James Comey to drop the investigation.

Great article!!!!

Good find!!!! :clink:

This should confirm beyond any doubt that Trump committed a crime and broke the law. His punishment awaits him.

The only way the Republican majority will punish him is if it's politically advantageous for them.

If Dumpy's poll numbers are in the toilet and opinion polls tell them that voters are associating Congressional Repugnants with him, they'll throw Trump right under the bus without hesitation.

Hopefully, they'll use this one 'certain' bus in particular....

Its not the Republican majority who will punish this President, they have had long enough to do something and wont. Its the office of the special council who will render the punishment.

Are these high dollar lawyers really this ignorant? How does Trump get their souls?

It's my understanding that all the Special Counsel can do is make his case and issue a report which will then be released to Congress and the public.

After that, any action taken against the President can only be undertaken by Congress.

That's just my understanding of it.

He can’t be prosecuted while in office, that law needs to be changed.

It's up to Congress to remove him from office first.

Then, if his crime(s) was/were bad enough to merit prosecution, as a private citizen, he would be subject to the rule of law just like anyone else.

I think there is some merit to not bring able to prosecute a sitting President, given how vulnerable anyone in that position is to having politically motivated, trumped up charges made against them.

Imagine what the Repugnants would have done to Clinton or Obama... or both of them for that matter, had it been within the law to criminally prosecute a sitting President.

They'd have had paid "victims" and "witnesses" crawling out of the woodwork.

Mueller is empowered to press criminal charges.
