Let's pull that thread for a bit. Let's say one of us, you for instance, had tangerine skin and joked about your wonderful hair, and for the last 10 years at the very least were the most interesting person and arguably the most famous person in global politics. All of your secrets, real and imagined, had been revealed, including a longstanding friendship that ended in 2007 spectacularly with a banning from your property with someone called something that rhymes with Schmeptstein. Pictures of you and this person were plastered everywhere for years and years and years, but now suddenly the right thinks they see a rift in your otherwise famously strong political constituency... They think they see a jugular for the first time on an otherwise Teflon Tom (We'll call you Tomold G. Schmump in this story).
Now, because they think they see a rift, suddenly the right who has been ignoring Schmepstein for eleventy threeve years thinks it is the most important thing, they bring it up to try to put a prybar in that rift and create separation between you and your otherwise loyal constituency...
What would you think of the folks that are listening to those on the right? Would you be annoyed? Would you think the folks that listen to your political "enemies" from your own leftist party were not paying attention to whom they were listening?
Now, imagine you were a bloviator, known for saying stuff like "those people are stupid and lazy" rather than something like, "They've fallen for propaganda without investigating and researching", because that has too many syllables and that makes it hard to spell and it just doesn't slip off the tongue as well as "stupid and lazy"...
I'd probably be on here asking you why Tangerine Tommy the Felonious was suddenly calling people stupid and lazy... and folks who weren't as excitable would be pointing out that he always says crap like that.
