Trump tweeted this about McGurk's departure.

"Brett McGurk, who I do not know, was appointed by President Obama in 2015. Was supposed to leave in February but he just resigned prior to leaving. Grandstander? The Fake News is making such a big deal about this nothing event!"


The fact that Trump does not know the man who leads the effort against defeating ISIS is alarming in its own write. The fact that Trump was stupid enough to actually admit it and post it on social media is even more alarming.

But alas, Trump knows more about ISIS than the generals and ISIS is defeated. At least that is the case in the "Alternative Facts" universe that Trump seems to live in.
