Concerns for Donald Trump's health have escalated rapidly as the president has been accused of "rotting" while the latest pictures of his hands have drawn an eerie comparison to the late Queen Elizabeth II, fuelling more questions.
Back in February, images of the president's right hand appeared to show him covering a bruise with makeup. Since then, multiple similar images have continued to emerge, including one appearing to also show bruising to his left hand.
Over the past weekend, photos captured a particularly heavy application of makeup to his hand while the president later appeared to attempt to hide the bruising while in the Oval Office by covering his right hand with his left. In an apparent change of tactic following widespread attention from the makeup, Trump finally went concealer-free on Monday, revealing a shockingly dark bruise on his right hand while signing executive orders.

Since then, social media has been flooded by people comparing Trump's bruised hand to an image of Queen Elizabeth's bruised hand taken just days before her death.
The final public images of Queen Elizabeth II captured her shaking the hand of then-British Prime Minister Liz Truss at Balmoral. The photos, taken on September 2, 2022, showed that the Queen had a dark bruise across her hand.

She died on September 8, 2022. "Left: Queen Elizabeth two days before she died. Right: Donald Trump today," one X user wrote as they posted side-by-side images of Trump and Queen Elizabeth's bruises.
Another questioned: "Notice anything familiar? That's Trump's hand on the left in a recent photo & Queen Elizabeth's hand on the right in the last photograph before she died."
"Notice the difference between Queen Elizabeth II’s hand and Donald Trump’s hand? What do you see?," a third asked alongside the two images.
One responded: "They're the same. What gives?? We deserve to know!" A second replied: "They both look like lady hands, they are both bruised and wrinkled af.... no difference."
"It’s really bad and MAGA know it. The dude is very ill," a third said. Another agreed, adding: "He’s rotting."
Many claimed the images indicate that the president could also be close to death. "Dead man walking just about managing to walk," one said.

"Death knocking at the door," another chimed. Someone else agreed, adding: "The photo was taken on September 6th 2022. The Queen died on September 8th 2022. Looks like the tangerine baboon will snuff it any minute now."
However, others offered an explanation less severe than imminent death. One claimed: "It is from a blood draw. When people reach their late 60s, they bruise when they get blood drawn for routine lab tests. They draw blood from older people in their hand because their veins roll in their arms."

"Looks like an IV mark to me. Possible on both," a second wrote. "It's an IV treatment mark of old people. No sickness itself, however, a clear sign that another sickness has been treated by his doctors," a third noted.
Suggesting there is a difference between Trump and the Queen's bruises, another commented: "Queens finger tips are white, Trumps are not. Queen has circulation issues, Trump has an acute trauma that will heal."
In July, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that Trump had been diagnosed with a medical condition in his veins called chronic venous insufficiency. It came after speculation about the president's health began soaring following images showing his swollen ankles and covered-up hand bruise.

Leavitt said that after noticing swelling in his legs, the president underwent a check-up and was diagnosed with the condition, which White House physician Captain Sean Barbabella described as "benign and common".
"Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or arterial disease," Dr Barbabella said. He added that Trump "remains in excellent health" and showed "normal cardiac structure and function," adding that "No signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness were identified."
Dr Barbabella said the bruising spotted on the back of Trump's hand is "consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen."
