A striking feature of Donald Trump’s persona is his constant, pointless lying, which in itself should be enough to disqualify him as a national leader. Politicians can be evasive, of course, but we don’t expect them to lie all the time for no reason. If they do, alarm bells should ring.
Mary Trump refers to this only once in her book, I think, where she suggests that Donald developed the habit to win his father’s approval, and it became ingrained behavior. Does anyone find this a sufficient explanation?
